Fortune Tires Review Canada 2026: Climaflex 4S and Tormenta A/T2

Short answer: Fortune is a value-priced tire brand that is new to our Canadian store. Its two main lines are the Climaflex 4S, an all-weather tire for cars, crossovers and SUVs, and the Tormenta A/T2, an all-terrain tire for pickups and SUVs. Fortune's US website states that both are 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) rated. They are a sensible choice if you want year-round capability without paying premium-brand money, but confirm the marking on the product page for your size before you buy.

Who makes Fortune tires?

Fortune is a brand of Prinx Chengshan, a tire maker with a history going back to 1976. Fortune tires are built in China. In North America the brand is sold through Prinx Chengshan Tire North America, which has shown the Fortune range at the SEMA Show.

That origin is not a red flag on its own. Most of the world's tires are made in Asia, including many from household-name brands. What matters is the tread design, the compound, the markings on the sidewall and the support behind the product. We will not claim test results we have not run ourselves, so treat this guide as a buyer's overview, not a lab test.

Climaflex 4S: the all-weather option

The Climaflex 4S (model code FSR402) is a touring all-weather tire. Retailers describe a continuous centre rib for stability, plenty of sipes for grip, and snow-traction features in the central grooves. Retailer listings show a treadwear grade of 700 on the Climaflex 4S. That is the manufacturer's rating, not a promise of kilometres, and grades are not directly comparable between brands.

An all-weather tire is different from an all-season. An all-season usually does not carry the mountain-snowflake symbol. An all-weather tire does, which means it passed a standardized snow-traction test. In Québec, a tire with the 3PMSF symbol meets the winter tire requirement. Our guide to the Québec winter tire rules has the dates.

A true winter tire still beats any all-weather on ice and in deep cold. If you live where winters are long and icy, read our winter tire buyer's guide. If you drive mostly in a city that gets moderate snow and want one set of tires, the Climaflex 4S is the kind of tire that makes sense.

Tormenta A/T2: the all-terrain option

The Tormenta A/T2 is built for light trucks and SUVs that spend most of their time on pavement but need to handle gravel, dirt and snow. Retailers list a treadwear grade of 600 and a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty in the US market, and Fortune's US website describes the tire as 3PMSF rated. Warranty terms can differ by country, so check the terms on our product page rather than relying on a US listing.

Our feed lists 33 sizes. Most are LT sizes in Load Range E (10-ply) and the biggest are Load Range F (12-ply) flotation sizes.

Load range matters if you tow or haul. Our tire load ratings guide explains how to read it.

The other two lines

The Tormenta LMD FSR103 is listed as a winter tire in commercial-style "C" sizes such as 225/75R16C and 235/85R16, with load ranges of C and E. It is worth looking at if you drive a van or a work vehicle. The Tormenta M/T FSR310 is a mud-terrain tire, and we have a single size, 35x12.50R17LT 128Q. Fortune's page for it describes it as a "Mud + Snow" tire and does not claim the 3PMSF symbol, so do not treat it as a winter tire. Expect more road noise and faster wear from any mud-terrain tire than from the A/T2.

Which Fortune tire is right for you?

Start with the vehicle, then think about the roads you drive.

  • Car, crossover or compact SUV on mostly paved roads: the Climaflex 4S. Sizes such as 205/55R16 and 225/65R17 are common on compact cars and crossovers. Confirm your size on the door placard or with the vehicle selector on the Fortune brand page.
  • Pickup or full-size SUV that sees gravel, dirt or heavier loads: the Tormenta A/T2 in an LT size such as LT265/70R17 or LT275/65R18. Match the load index and load range to your vehicle, and see our tire load ratings guide.
  • Big flotation sizes: the 35 and 37 inch Tormenta A/T2 sizes, such as 35x12.50R20LT, are listed in Load Range F (12-ply) in our feed. Check clearance and gearing before you order.
  • Van or work vehicle: the Tormenta LMD FSR103 "C" sizes. Read the winter notes below first, because we have not verified a 3PMSF claim for that line.

Comparing brands? The Tercelo Croseason 4S guide covers another four-season tire, and the Buckshot Rugged Terrain guide covers a more aggressive truck tire. For all-season and all-weather options by region, see our Ontario all-season guide.

Canadian winter and 3PMSF notes

  • Fortune's US website states that the Climaflex 4S and Tormenta A/T2 are 3PMSF rated. We have not verified a 3PMSF claim for the Tormenta LMD or the Tormenta M/T, so do not buy those two for winter use on the strength of a symbol or a feed flag.
  • Recall note: Transport Canada recall 2025004 (published January 7, 2025, last updated January 13, 2025) covers Fortune Tires Tormenta R/T FSR309 and Prinx Hicountry R/T HR1 tires, model years 2021 to 2024, in LT sizes with load range E or F, plant code 04N and date codes 3921 to 4824. Transport Canada says these tires do not meet the minimum snow traction requirements of Canadian regulations, and corrective action was still under development. That recall is for a different model than the Tormenta M/T FSR310 we are adding, but it is a good reminder: check the actual sidewall marking and the manufacturer's current information, and do not rely on a catalogue or supplier flag alone.
  • Look for the mountain-with-snowflake symbol on the sidewall. That is the proof, not a product name.
  • 3PMSF all-weather and all-terrain tires are a compromise. They are very good for a single set of year-round tires. They are not a replacement for a dedicated winter tire in harsh, icy conditions.
  • Fortune tires in our feed are not studded.

Who should buy Fortune tires?

  • Commuters and families who want one set of tires for all four seasons.
  • Pickup and SUV owners who want a capable all-terrain without the price of the big off-road names.
  • Budget-minded buyers who still want the snowflake symbol.

Who might skip them?

  • Drivers who want the quietest, longest-wearing tire money can buy.
  • Anyone who needs dedicated ice performance in a northern winter.
  • People who want a long track record in Canada. The brand is new to our store, so we have no local history to quote yet.

Fortune tires FAQ

Are Fortune tires good?

They are a value-oriented brand from a long-established manufacturer. For everyday driving they are a reasonable choice. Premium brands usually do better on wet braking and tread life.

Who owns Fortune tires?

Fortune is a brand of Prinx Chengshan, and the tires are made in China.

Is the Fortune Climaflex 4S a winter tire?

It is an all-weather tire carrying the 3PMSF symbol, which meets Québec's winter tire rule. It is not a dedicated winter tire, so ice grip is more limited.

Is the Tormenta A/T2 3PMSF rated?

Fortune's US website says so. Confirm the symbol on the sidewall or product page for your size.

What sizes does Fortune make?

We list 40 Climaflex 4S sizes and 33 Tormenta A/T2 sizes, plus 6 Tormenta LMD and 1 Tormenta M/T. Check the Fortune brand page for what is available.

Do Fortune tires have a mileage warranty?

US retailers list a 50,000-mile warranty on the Tormenta A/T2. Terms can differ in Canada, so confirm on the product page.

Should I choose the Climaflex 4S or the Tormenta A/T2?

Choose the Climaflex 4S for a car, crossover or SUV that stays mostly on pavement. Choose the Tormenta A/T2 for a light truck or SUV that sees gravel, dirt or heavier loads. They are built for different vehicles, not two versions of the same tire.

Will Fortune tires fit my vehicle?

Check the size, load index and speed rating against your door placard or owner's manual. The vehicle selector on the Fortune brand page narrows the list to sizes that fit.
