Pilot Sport 4 S Summer

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S is Michelin's flagship Max Performance Summer tire, launched as the successor to the widely respected Pilot Super Sport. It's built for sports cars, performance sedans, and supercars, and was co-developed with Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche to meet the demanding handling targets those manufacturers set for their own vehicles. Its asymmetric tread uses a Bi-Compound design drawn from Michelin's 24 Hours of Le Mans racing program: a dry-focused hybrid rubber on the low-void outer shoulder for dry grip and braking, paired with a silica-infused compound on the center ribs and inner shoulder for wet traction. Variable Contact Patch 3.0 technology optimizes pressure distribution across the footprint through corners, while a hybrid Aramid-and-nylon reinforcement, spirally wound above twin steel belts, adds high-speed stability and steering precision. In independent TÜV SÜD testing commissioned by Michelin, the Pilot Sport 4 S outperformed several rival ultra-high-performance tires across key dry and wet handling and braking metrics. Select sizes are available with Michelin's laser-etched Premium Touch checkered sidewall for a distinctive look. As a max performance summer tire, it is not intended for winter, mud, or snow use — dedicated winter tires should be fitted once temperatures drop.
