The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 is Michelin's performance winter tire for drivers who keep their sports cars, coupes, and sedans on the road through snow, ice, and freezing temperatures rather than parking them for the season. It replaces the earlier Pilot Alpin PA3, and Michelin engineered it around two named advances: Helio Compound+, a full silica, sunflower-oil-enriched rubber that stays pliable in the cold for shorter stopping distances on snow, ice, and wet pavement, and Stabiligrip, a high-density 3D sipe technology that locks tread blocks together for sharper acceleration, braking, and handling response. A directional tread pattern with wrap-around shoulder blocks channels away snow and slush while keeping the tire planted through corners. The PA4 carries the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol, meeting the industry's severe-snow service standard, and is factory-approved (MO) fitment on select BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche models, including run-flat (ZP) constructions in a handful of sizes. It's a fit for UHP-oriented drivers who want genuine winter grip without giving up the composed, sporty character of a performance tire, backed by a 30,000-mile limited warranty that's uncommon among winter tires.
